UP Academic Oval to be closed to bikers, joggers for UPCAT 2027 on Aug. 1-2

The Academic Oval of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman in Quezon City will be temporarily closed to bikers and joggers for the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) 2027 this August.

The UP Diliman Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs (OVCCA) announced in a public advisory on Tuesday that the closure will be implemented on August 1 (Saturday) and August 2 (Sunday).

Examinees may familiarize themselves with the traffic flow map, testing centers, jeepney routes, and portalet and medical stations below ahead of the examination dates.

Applications for UPCAT 2027 opened on March 3.

A total of 18,350 examinees had passed UPCAT 2026, representing 12.44% of all test takers who sought admission for the Academic Year 2026 to 2027.

UP remains the country's premier state university and continues to lead Philippine universities in the QS World University Rankings 2027, placing 402nd worldwide.

Other Philippine universities in the rankings include the Ateneo de Manila University at 581st, De La Salle University in the 751–760 bracket, the University of Santo Tomas in the 951–1000 range, and Adamson University in the 1201–1400 band. —CDC, GMA News
