Intramuros sites closed, events canceled due to bad weather on August 9, 2026
The Intramuros Administration announced that several gate sites within the Walled City in Manila are temporarily closed on Sunday, August 9, 2026, due to the inclement weather brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).
The following sites are:
- Fort Santiago
- Baluarte de San Diego
- Casa Manila Museum
- Centro de Turismo Intramuros
- Museo de Intramuros
The continuous rain also postponed the Dalaw at Sayaw performance at Fort Santiago and the Pasig River, as well as the Tranventure, or Tranvia Rolling Tour, for Intramuros Passport holders.
Meanwhile, the following Intramuros Administration-managed parking areas are closed on Sunday, and only vehicles with confirmed parking reservations will be accommodated:
- Postigo Parking Area
- PC Barracks Parking Area
- Fort Santiago Parking Area
State weather bureau PAGASA said the Habagat will continue to bring rains over Metro Manila and several parts of Luzon and the Visayas throughout the day.
As of 11 a.m., PAGASA placed the following areas on Red Warning Level, indicating a hazard of serious flooding in flood-prone areas.
Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac(San Clemente, Camiling, Mayantoc, Santa Ignacia, Capas, San Jose, Bamban, Concepcion), Rizal(Taytay, Cainta, Antipolo, San Mateo, Rodriguez, Tanay, Baras, Morong, Teresa, Angono, Binangonan, Cardona), Quezon(General Nakar), Cavite(General Trias, Imus, Bacoor, Kawit, Cavite City, Tanza, Rosario, Noveleta, Carmona, Gen. Mariano Alvarez, Dasmarinas, Naic, Trece Martires), Nueva Ecija(Gapan, San Isidro, Cabiao, San Antonio) and Laguna(San Pedro, Binan).
