Joc-Joc wants to become Capiz governor in 2010, Gordon claims

MANILA, Philippines - Former Agriculture undersecretary Jocelyn “JocJoc" Bolante will be running for governor in the province of Capiz in the 2010 elections, Senator Richard Gordon claimed Monday. Gordon said he received the information through a text message sent by a civilian from Iloilo, whose name he refused to say. He said his source was an agent of a tobacco company in Region VI (Western Visayas). The text message read: "FYI. The die is cast. JocJoc Bolante is running for governor in Capiz." The Senate blue ribbon committee earlier recommended the filing of plunder and other cases against Bolante with regards to the P728-million fertilizer fund scam. Bolante was tagged as the alleged main architect and engineer of the multi-million scam. Gordon, chairman of the committee, said he had been hearing of the rumors on Bolante’s political plans and it was only now that his source confirmed it. - GMANews.TV
