Fire guts portion of Mandaluyong city hall


A fire gutted portions of the engineering department of the Mandaluyong City Hall on Monday morning. No one was reported hurt in the incident which began at around 10:34 a.m. Firefighters contained the blaze at around 11:05 a.m. Fire Officer 3 Oscar Pedro of the Mandaluyong Fire Department said initial reports showed that an unattended stove triggered the fire at the fifth floor of the city hall. Most of the properties damaged by the fire were the plans and documents of the engineering department, Pedro told GMANews.TV in a phone interview. Arson probers are still investigating the incident and have yet to determine the value of the damaged properties. – VVP, GMANews.TV
