Poe: No 'lukso ng dugo' so far as search for blood relatives continues
By AMITA LEGASPI and MARIZ UMALI, GMA News
Senator Grace Poe remains optimistic she would still be able to find her blood relatives as she admitted she did not feel any ‘connection’ with the person who recently gave a DNA specimen.
Despite several DNA tests, no matches have resulted so far. Poe intends to submit a matching DNA test before proceedings probing her "natural-born" citizenship status.
“Sa totoo lang wala pa kasi masyado akong nararamdamang lukso ng dugo,” Poe admitted to reporters in an interview Wednesday after the inauguration of the headquarters of her supporters in Quezon City.
The senator said she trusts the sincerity of the latest individual to submit to DNA testing.
A report from GMA News' Mariz Umali on the "24 Oras newscast" said the senator was referring to Lorena de Chavez who introduced herself as Poe's aunt, saying that she had contact with two of her supposed siblings.
In the same report, de Chavez's brother Junie Rodriguez said she was already on her way to Manila to undergo DNA testing.
Poe also said.
Poe narrated that a family approached her during her trip to Iloilo.
So ano nalang, umasa na lang tayo,” she said.
The senator said she decided to give them a chance as she with others who said they could be her relatives.
So subukan natin.
Poe said she expects the results to come out in three weeks or possibly a month.
Tingnan natin. Malay mo, mayroon,” she said. — Andrei Medina/ELR, GMA News
