Bulacan will deliver votes for VP Binay, claims ex-Gov. Pagdanganan
SAN MIGUEL, Bulacan – Former Bulacan governor Roberto Pagdanganan on Thursday expressed confidence that Vice President Jejomar Binay will be able to duplicate his victory in the province in the May 9 presidential elections.
"Definitely (Bulacan will deliver votes). Nanalo siya rito noong kumandidatong bise presidente. Ang tingin namin, mas mahihigitan pa yun sa kanyang pagkapangulo ngayon," Pagdanganan told reporters before the start of the campaign rally here.
Bulacan has 1,640,615 registered voters. The incumbent governor, Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado, is with the National Unity Party.
Pagdanganan said that although there are many candidates who are running in the local post, most of them support Binay's candidacy.
"Ang mga politiko dito ay nagkakasama-sama, kung may pagkakaiba man dun sa ibang kandidatong lokal ay nagkakaisa kay VP Binay," he said.
He said the people find Binay's platform relevant.
He added another factor is that the Vice President's wife, Dr. Elenita Binay, is a native of Bulacan.
He further said that Binay is supported by different civil society groups and senior citizen organizations.
Supporters, wearing blue shirts with Binay's name on it, have gathered in front of San Miguel municipal hall as early as 9 am.
Senatorial candidates Getulio Napeñas and Alma Moreno were already in the venue and have already presented their program to the people.
