PNP chief on Robredo's letter: It did not land on my table
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa maintained on Tuesday that he did not see the letter supposedly sent by the office of Vice President Leni Robredo to inquire about the alleged abuses in the police's anti-drugs operations.
Dela Rosa confirmed that the letter reached the PNP, but instead of being brought to his office, it was sent directly to the extension office of Interior and Local Government Secretary Ismael Sueno.
"Wala akong nabasang sulat mula sa kanya. Yung letter was addressed to Secretary Sueno. Nakita ng message center na addressed kay Sueno kaya hindi nilagay sa mesa ko," he said.
Dela Rosa added that the people on duty at the message center did not see "courtesy copy" note on the letter.
"Hindi nakita itong maliit na nakasulat na naka-cc ako," he added, referring to the small note on the bottom left part of the letter.

He said that the message center gave a copy of the letter to the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management since Robredo's office was asking figures on the war on drugs.
"Binigyan ng copy, furnished ang DIDM para sila ang magbigay ng data sa office of SILG," he said.
Dela Rosa said he has yet to ask the DIDM if it was able to act on the letter.
Defending her statement about the alleged "palit-ulo" scheme, Robredo said over the weekend that her office sent a letter to the PNP and Sueno's office to ask for documents and data about the police's anti-drug campaign called Oplan Double Barrel.
Robredo's office also informed Sueno and the PNP in the letter about reports that it received about "a variety of concerns" on the implementation of the administration's anti-drug campaign.
Robredo said the PNP and Sueno's office have yet to reply to their letter, which was sent last January. —ALG, GMA News
