Bounty for CDO university president’s killers raised to P2 million
The city government of Cagayan de Oro is now offering P2 million for information that will lead to the arrest of the killers of University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) president Dr. Ricardo Rotoras.
A Balitanghali report on Wednesday said the cash amount has been raised from P1 million initially announced last Tuesday.
Rotoras was gunned down by two unidentified assailants in front of his home at Gold Glow North at Barangay Upper Carmen at past 1 a.m. last Saturday.
As an esteemed member of the country's higher education sector, the Commission on Higher Education has joined the Rotoras family and the USTP community in mourning and demanding justice for his death.
Senators, also condemning the killing, have already urged authorities to bolster their efforts to arrest the individuals responsible.
Authorities said the investigation to identify the culprits and their motive were still ongoing, the report said. — Margaret Claire Layug/MDM, GMA News
