Bato dela Rosa welcome to take courses in governance in UP, says dean
Winning senatorial candidate Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa is welcome to undergo training programs at the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG), its dean said on Wednesday.
The first-time senatorial candidate who was among the front-runners in Monday's Elections had expressed willingness to attend a "seminar" on the process of lawmaking when he assumes his new role in the government.
UP-NCPAG dean Fe Mendoza, who was asked to weigh in on Dela Rosa's statement on GMA News TV's Balitanghali, said she was happy to hear about his plans.
During the interview, Mendoza gave her assurance that several training progams for lawmakers were available at the NCPAG.
"Marami kaming training programs sa national. Meron kaming mga executive courses on policy-making. Ngayon nga, meron na kaming nakahanda para sa 18th Congress kasi palagi naming ginagawa nito at so meron na kaming programa na nakahain para sa House [of Representatives]," Mendoza said.
"Ngayon sa Senate naman, kung gusto ni senator-elect Bato Dela Rosa na magkaroon ng training, welcome siya," she added.
Acording to the dean, Dela Rosa may also avail of "customized" training programs offered by the institution. —Margaret Claire Layug/NB, GMA News
