'Hybrid' Bar exams get P200M allocation in 2021, says Angara
Senator Sonny Angara on Friday said P200 million has been earmarked by the Senate Finance Committee for the conduct of "hybrid" Bar examinations in 2021.
"There would be an online supplement to the actual physical testing centers. So it's kind of a hybrid system. We provided P200 million for that," Angara, sponsor of the Judiciary's proposed P44.5 billion budget said during the plenary debates.
The SC postponed this year's Bar exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic and scheduled the next one in November 2021.
Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta previously said the Supreme Court is considering the conduct of online Bar examinations next year.
Meanwhile, Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, the 2020/21 Bar chairperson, said the SC would test within 2020 the viability of a computerized Bar exam system and will announce the modality of the 2020/21 Bar examinations in the first quarter of 2021.—AOL, GMA News
