NAPOLCOM exec calls on public for courage in filing complaints vs. cops

An official from the National Police Commission on Wednesday urged the public not to be afraid in filing complaints against erring police officers.

Interviewed on Dobol B sa News TV, Attorney Chito Bustonera, acting chief of NAPOLCOM's legal service, assured complainants that filing complaints against rogue cops is no longer tedious.

Bustonera said.

The Tarlac shooting incident that killed mother Sonya Gregorio, and her son Frank Anthony has plunged to darker depths the already negative public perception of police officers across the country.

Police Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca, who shot the victims, has been indicted for two counts of murder. He is presently under the custody of the Paniqui Municipal Police Station.

Amid the public's "generalization" against the police force, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año claimed that 99% of cops across the country are still doing their mandate of serving and protecting the citizens. —LBG, GMA News
