OSG closed until Jan. 25 after 8 employees test positive for COVID-19

The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) will be closed until January 25 to prevent further transmission after eight employees tested positive for COVID-19.

The OSG said alternative work arrangements are in place while their office in Makati undergoes disinfection.

It said documents will not be personally received during the lockdown and may instead be emailed to efile@osg.gov.ph. Other documents may be sent to efile@osg.gov.ph, it said.

The Supreme Court earlier said that an assistant solicitor general and some staff who were supposed to attend oral arguments on the anti-terrorism law have tested positive for COVID-19.

Originally scheduled for January 19, the oral arguments were postponed to February 2.

More than half a million COVID-19 cases, which includes over 10,000 deaths, have been recorded in the Philippines as of Thursday afternoon. Some 30,000 patients are currently considered active cases. — Nicole-Anne C. Lagrimas/RSJ, GMA News
