PNP COVID-19 cases reach 42,208

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday said five new coronavirus infections were recorded among its personnel, driving up the total COVID-19 cases to 42,208.

Of this number, 37 are active cases, data from the PNP Health Service showed.

The total recoveries went up by eight to 42,046.

The death toll meanwhile remained at 125.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday recorded 544 new COVID-19 cases bringing the nationwide tally to 2,833,878. 

The DOH said active infections stood at 14,977.

Meanwhile, total recoveries climbed by 734 to 2,769,914 while 235 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 48,987. —KG, GMA News
