CIDG starts probe into woman who skipped quarantine, got massage
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has started investigating another incident where a returning overseas Filipino skipped quarantine in a hotel, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said on Wednesday.
Interviewed on CNN Philippines, Año said that authorities have already identified the traveler, who got a massage after skipping quarantine.
“Kagabi, kausap ko si [CIDG chief Police Major General Albert Ferro] at nagsimula na sila sa investigation nila” he said.
(Last night, I talked to CIDG chief Ferro and they already started their investigation.)
Año said the traveler went straight to her condominium in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City instead of staying first in a quarantine hotel in Makati when she arrived in the Philippines on December 22.
Currently, the CIDG is now coordinating with the Bureau of Quarantine and Department of Tourism as they look into the incident.
Before her, another traveler was also caught skipping quarantine from a hotel and later on tested positive for COVID-19.
The CIDG on Tuesday lodged a complaint before the Makati Prosecutor's Office against the individual, Gwyneth Chua, and eight others. — BM, GMA News
