‘Flexi-workplace’ to be permanent for gov't workers —CSC exec

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is making permanent the alternative and flexible work arrangement for government employees, Commissioner Aileen Lizada said Thursday.

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, Lizada said the flexi-workplace will be implemented even without a pandemic.

“Ang bagong Commission…pinaaayos na natin at ginagawa natin, we are making it permanent. Ini-institutionalize natin ang flexi-workplace, hindi lang ito sa time ng pandemic,” she said.

(The new Commission…we are straightening out and making the flexi-workplace permanent. We are institutionalizing it, not only during the time of the pandemic.)

Lizada said the CSC Memorandum Circular No. 18 Year 2020 on alternative and flexible work arrangement is only effective during a public health emergency, which is set to end by September this year.

The flexi-workplace includes work-from-home, skeletal workforce, four-day compressed workweek, staggered working hours, and a combination of the four.

Meanwhile, Supreme Court employees will physically report for work for four days and work from home for a day starting April 4.
