SC: Bar exam results to be released on April 12

The Supreme Court (SC) will release the results of the 2020-2021 Bar examinations on April 12, Associate Justice Marvic Leonen announced on Tuesday.

"We release the results of the Bar on April 12. Oath-taking will be on May 2. All the best for everyone. Take care of each other," Leonen, chairperson of the 2020-2021 Bar exam committee, wrote on Twitter.

He said the SC intends to hold an in-person oath-taking ceremony in Manila.

“New lawyers, as per tradition, will take their oaths before the entire Court en banc in a special session,” Leonen said. "Up to you to make the appropriate preparations."

In a separate statement, the SC said the venue, time, and other details of the oath-taking would be announced at a later date.

After two postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bar exams were finally held on February 4 and 6 this year.

It was the first time that the exams were held in multiple venues. It was shortened to two days instead of four, and conducted digitally, with examinees bringing their own laptops and downloading questions from a secured online application.

This exam also had the biggest batch of Bar candidates with a 96.5% turnout.

On Monday, Leonen quelled “unverified stories” related to the exam results and advised recent Bar takers to “rest easy." —Mel Matthew Doctor and Sundy Locus/KG/VBL, GMA News
