Miriam hurt in accident during hubby's birthday party

MANILA, Philippines - Administration Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago was hurt after she accidentally hit her head on wall during the birthday party of her husband, Narciso, at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel in Mandaluyong City, Monday night. Tom Tolibas, Santiago's media relations officer, told GMANews.TV that around 9:30 p.m., the senator was on the stage when she suddenly fell. He said the Santiago was brought to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in Greenhills, San Juan City, for treatment. Santiago had three stitches for her wound. Tolibas said the accident caused no major injury on the senator as shown in her CT Scan. Santiago was in fact, allowed to go home after receiving treatment, Tolibas said. "She is now at home.
