Ex-press secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles attends NBI probe on Sara 'kill' remark
Former press secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles on Friday appeared before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in response to its subpoena regarding Vice President Sara Duterte's remark that she ordered someone to kill President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. if she dies.
The NBI is investigating Duterte for alleged grave threats in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and possible violation of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020, following her alleged kill order against the President, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez.
She was initially set to appear before the bureau on November 29, but this was rescheduled to December 11 upon the request of her camp.
Cruz-Angeles was appointed as head of the Presidential Communications and Operations Office under the Marcos administration.
She quit from her post in October 2022, citing health reasons.
Prior to her post, Cruz-Angeles was also a vlogger who made several posts on X (formerly Twitter) that were critical of the president’s family.
Last Monday, the NBI issued a new subpoena to the Vice President.
Meanwhile, NBI chief Jaime Santiago said that should the Vice President fail to show up again, the bureau would submit the evidence it has regarding Duterte's remarks to the Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors.
Duterte had earlier contended that her remarks against Marcos, the First Lady, and his cousin Romualdez were "maliciously taken out of logical context." — VDV, GMA Integrated News
