Marcos hoping for safe, convenient Holy Week 2025 exodus — Palace

Marcos hopes for safe, convenient Holy Week 2025 exodus

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has directed government agencies to ensure that Filipinos and foreigners who will travel this Holy Week will have a safe and convenient journey.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said that Marcos is specifically expecting Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon to address possible issues that may arise in transportation facilities such as overloading of passengers.

(The President wants and has directed agencies to give our countrymen and everyone who is visiting our country a safe and convenient travel experience.)

(Aside from them, those who are left in their homes and will not be traveling this Holy Week should also be given protection.)

Marcos Holy Week plans

As for the President’s Holy Week plans, Castro said that Marcos will be spending time with his family. She refrained from disclosing further details, but said that the President will still engage in official meetings and activities until Wednesday.

Travelers have started to head to their respective provinces over the weekend in anticipation of the influx of people in the coming days due to the Holy Week break.

At the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) alone, Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said that around 150,000 passengers are expected to troop to terminals everyday throughout the holiday exodus.

Castro said that the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has given assurance that its personnel are prepared for the influx of travelers in the country's main gateway this week.

(The BI will deploy additional 48 personnel in NAIA to ensure that all counters are manned and there will be no long lines, as much as they can, as we’re unsure how many will really travel this week.) — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
