Smooth Holy Week at NAIA —BI
The Bureau of Immigration reported a smooth Holy Week at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, with no untoward incidents or long queues recorded.
"Malaking bagay 'yung na-dispersa 'yung bilang ng bumabyahe. May mga umalis nang maaga pa lang," BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval said in an interview with Super Radyo dzBB.
(It's a big help that the number of travelers was dispersed. Some passengers traveled earlier than usual.)
Ahead of the anticipated surge in travelers, the BI deployed 48 additional personnel to NAIA, as the New NAIA Infra Corp. projected over 1.18 million passengers during the Holy Week period.
Sandoval noted that the newly opened Overseas Filipino Workers Wing at NAIA played a significant role in alleviating passenger congestion.
“Naging smooth 'yung ating operations noong mga nakaraang araw,” she added.
(Our operations have been smooth over the past few days.)
She also reminded travelers to fill out the eTravel form prior to arriving in or departing from the Philippines.
The public was cautioned against scams and fake websites, emphasizing that the eTravel form is free and only accessible at https://etravel.gov.ph. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
