Chel Diokno urges officials on Discaya List to bare SALNs, waive bank secrecy

Akbayan party-list Rep. Chel Diokno on Monday urged members of the House of Representatives and officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways who were implicated by the Discaya couple to disclose their Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth.

Diokno also called on the said officials to sign waivers on bank secrecy to clear their names over the allegations of corruption by Pacifico "Curlee" Discaya and Cezarah "Sarah" Discaya.

“Sa mga pagbubunyag nitong umaga sa Senado, hinahamon natin ang lahat ng nadawit—mga tauhan at opisyal ng DPWH, pati na rin ang ilang mambabatas—na ipakita ang kanilang SALN at lumagda ng waiver sa bank secrecy para sa ganap na transparency,” Diokno said.

(Given the allegations before the Senate probe, we challenge those who were named, DPWH and House members, to show their SALN and sign off a waiver on bank secretary for full-on transparency.)

“Hinihikayat din natin ang ibang mga kontratista at opisyales na lumantad at isiwalat ang kanilang nalalaman tungkol sa mga iregularidad,” he added.

Diokno, who earlier released his SALN, said SALN disclosure and waiver of the Bank Secrecy Law are necessary for a top-to-bottom campaign against corruption.

“Dapat mapanagot ang mga nasa likod nito, pati na ang kanilang mga kasabwat. Hindi tayo papayag na may makakalusot,” Diokno said.
