Ex-DPWH engineer Brice Hernandez to be transferred to Camp Crame — Sotto
Former Bulacan 1st district assistant engineer Brice Hernandez will be transferred to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City to ensure his safety, Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III said Tuesday.
Sotto, however, clarified that Hernandez remains in contempt with the Senate and will remain strictly under the supervision of the Senate Office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA).
"To make sure he is safe but still in custody of the Senate, the Speaker and I agreed to place him in the PNP custodial center but under the supervision of the Senate OSAA," the newly installed Senate chief said.
Sotto earlier granted the request of the House of Representatives for Hernandez to attend its hearing into the anomalous flood control projects today, Tuesday.
Hernandez was cited in contempt by the Senate blue ribbon committee on Monday after he repeatedly denied alleged information regarding his casino activities.
At the House, Hernandez claimed that some senators, namely Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva, are involved in alleged anomalous flood control projects. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
