President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said Sunday the government would continue delivering public services despite the country’s energy woes, as he highlighted the administration’s housing program in his latest social media reel.

In “BBM Vlog 281: Pabahay” posted on Instagram, Marcos said the government’s work cannot stop even as the country grapples with an energy crisis.

(Even if our energy crisis is serious, the work of government cannot stop there.)

(We will not allow the services being delivered by the government to be paralyzed, whatever problems we are facing.)

Marcos noted that government services must continue across sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, peace and order, and support for sports, culture, the arts, and tourism.

The President made the remarks as he introduced the administration’s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program, or 4PH, the focus of the nearly three-minute video.

(Whatever challenges we face, government work and services continue. Amid the energy crisis, programs that bring hope continue to be delivered, especially housing for every Filipino family.)

It featured stories of beneficiaries and officials involved in the government’s housing initiative, as well as Marcos’ recent visit to housing projects in Pampanga.

Marcos said the housing program is beginning to improve the lives of beneficiaries.

Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, who also appeared in the reel, said the government has expanded housing options for beneficiaries.

“Ngayon lahat po ng modalities. Nandiyan po ang horizontal, house and lot,” Aliling said. (Now all housing modalities are available. Horizontal or house-and-lot options are included.)

The video highlighted that the government lowered subsidized interest rates to between 1% and 3% for qualified beneficiaries of socialized housing projects.

Marcos ensured that the administration would continue addressing the country’s housing backlog.

(We will find ways to address the housing shortage. We will make sure something is done for everyone who needs a house.) —RF, GMA News
