Paraguayan president Palacios arrives in PH for bilateral talk with Marcos
Paraguay President Santiago Peña Palacios arrived in Manila on Sunday afternoon for an official visit.
He was welcomed by Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Roque at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Palacios is expected to meet Marcos on Monday, May 11 following an invitation from the latter. This will be the first presidential visit between the two countries.
The two countries seek to expand cooperation across a range of sectors, including trade and investment, as well as agriculture.
The Presidential Communications Office earlier said that this official visit underscores the continued efforts of the Philippines to broaden its engagement with its Latin American partners as well as to diversify its economic partnerships.
