Palace declares May 27, 2026 a regular holiday in observance of Eid'l Adha

Malacanang has declared May 27, 2026, Wednesday, a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of the Eid'l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice.

The announcement was contained in Proclamation No. 1264 released by the Office of the Executive Secretary on late Thursday.

Eid'l Adha is one of the two greatest fests of Islam, according to the proclamation.

Republic Act No. 9849 earlier declared the 10th day of Zhul Hijja, the 12th month of the Islamic Calendar, a national holiday in observance of Eid'l Adha, with a movable date.

"Following the 1447 Hijrah Islamic Lunar Calendar, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos ahs recommended that 27 May 2026, Wednesday, be declared a national holiday," the proclamation added.
