Lino Cayetano takes oath as new PTV-4 general manager

Former Taguig City Mayor Lino Edgardo Cayetano on Thursday formally took his oath of office as the new general manager of state-run People’s Television Network (PTV).

In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro announced that Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Dave Gomez administered Cayetano’s oath.

“Magiging mahalagang bahagi si General Manager Cayetano sa patuloy na pagpapalakas ng organisasyon at sa pagsusulong ng mandato ng PCO at ng PTV,” Castro said.

(General Manager Cayetano will play an important role in further strengthening the organization and in advancing the mandate of the PCO and the PTV.)

Gomez earlier announced that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. appointed Cayetano as the new head of PTV, replacing Maria Lourdes Choa-Fagar.

The new general manager of state-run PTV is the younger brother of Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano and Senator Pia Cayetano.

He directed several primetime television programs for major broadcast networks and served for more than a decade as a director and creative consultant for ABS-CBN. — JMA, GMA News
