Sara Duterte visits earthquake victims in Davao Occidental, Sarangani
Vice President Sara Duterte on Sunday visited victims of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Davao Occidental and Sarangani.
She checked on evacuees staying at the Ignacia A. Guillermo Central Elementary School in Barangay Nuing in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental.
She later went to Sarangani Municipal Hospital and the Philippine Emergency Medical Assistance Team (PEMAT) Field Hospital in Glan, Sarangani.
Duterte also visited an evacuation center in Barangay Mabila, Balut Island.
“Mga kababayan, patuloy tayong maging alerto at handa, lalo't hindi natin alam kung kailan maaaring tumama ang mga sakuna at kalamidad. Isama rin natin sa ating mga dasal ang kaligtasan ng bawat isa,” the Vice President said in a statement.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), 1,599,350 individuals, or 375,664 families were affected by the earthquake that hit off the coast of Sarangani on June 8.
There were also 77 individuals reported dead due to the calamity, the NDRRMC added. — JMA, GMA News
