MalacaƱang scoffs at OVP's accomplishment report: 'Okay, noted'

Malacañang was less than impressed Tuesday with the recently released accomplishment report by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) under the leadership of Sara Duterte.

Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro had a succinct remark when asked about the accomplishment report: "Okay, noted."

According to Castro, releasing such reports might have been difficult for Duterte because there should be evidence to prove that the services were indeed delivered to the people.

"Siguro talagang challenging sa kanya ang mga ganitong klaseng report kasi ang pagre-report sa taumbayan, hindi naman nakukuha sa numero lamang. Tandaan natin, ang kanyang mga pagre-report, pinupuna na noon pa ng COA," the Palace press officer said in a press conference.

(Perhaps these kinds of reports are really challenging for her because these do not stop with numbers alone. Let's remember that some of the OVP's programs were previously flagged by the Commission on Audit.)

"Tingin natin hindi po natatapos ang pagri-report sa numero lamang na nakikita natin ngayon kundi dapat ito ay mabigyan ng basehan kung totoo bang ito ay naipamigay dahil marami na pong naibalita noon na may mga ghost students, ghost vouchers, ghost school materials, ghost food packs," she added.

(We think that her reports should not end with numbers. There should be evidence to prove that these were indeed given to the people because there are reports on ghost students, ghost vouchers, ghost school materials, ghost food packs.)

In 2025, the Commission on Audit (COA) flagged the OVP for delayed liquidation of financial grants it provided in 2024 to beneficiaries of its livelihood assistance program, Mag Negosyo Ta 'Day (MTD).

According to its latest accomplishment report, the OVP highlighted its assistance, livelihood, education, and disaster response programs, saying more than 271,000 individuals received aid through its initiatives over the past year.

The OVP also said its Libreng Sakay initiative has served around 2.9 million commuters.

In its disaster response efforts, the office reported extending assistance to more than 535,000 families through its Disaster Operations Center and partner organizations.

The OVP also noted distributing school and dental kits to 603,751 students under its PagbaBAGo campaign, among other initiatives. — VDV, GMA News
