DOH on Code White Alert due to Super Typhoon Inday
The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday placed its operations under Code White Alert in preparation for and response to the possible effects of Super Typhoon Inday.
Under the alert status, the DOH said its Operations Center will remain on 24/7 alert to ensure a prompt response to affected communities.
The agency also said it continues to coordinate with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), local government units, and regional disaster response units.
The DOH said it remains on standby to ensure the continuous delivery of health services and the immediate deployment of assistance to areas that may be affected by Typhoon Inday.
Super Typhoon Inday is now inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) with seven areas under Signal No. 1, according to the Tropical Cyclone Bulletin posted by PAGASA.
As of 8 a.m., the center of the eye of Super Typhoon Inday was estimated at 1,330 kilometers east of Northern Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 240 km/h.
Inday is moving west-northwestward at the speed of 20 km/h.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is in effect over the following areas:
- Batanes
- Cagayan including Babuyan Islands
- the northern and central portions of Isabela (Santo Tomas, Aurora, Santa Maria, Quezon, San Mariano, Naguilian, Dinapigue, Roxas, Luna, Delfin Albano, City of Cauayan, San Pablo, Ilagan City, Benito Soliven, Tumauini, Cabagan, Reina Mercedes, San Manuel, Palanan, Cabatuan, Quirino, Divilacan, Gamu, Mallig, Maconacon, Burgos, San Guillermo, Angadanan, Alicia, San Mateo)
- Apayao
- the eastern portion of Kalinga (Pinukpuk, City of Tabuk, Rizal)
- the northern portion of Aurora (Dilasag)
- the northern and central portions of Catanduanes (Pandan, Caramoran, Bagamanoc, Panganiban, Viga, Gigmoto, Baras, San Miguel)
