Malacañang orders gov't offices, classes to shift to alternative setup
Malacañang issued a circular on Monday morning directing government offices to shift to appropriate work arrangements in the National Capital Region and other provinces beginning at 12 noon.
Memorandum Circular No. 127 also covers government offices and schools in the following areas:
- Zambales
- Bataan
- Bulacan
- Pampanga
- Tarlac
- Nueva Ecija
- Cavite
- Batangas
- Rizal
- Laguna
- Quezon
- Occidental Mindoro
"Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes at all levels in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas," the circular noted.
However, agencies delivering basic and health services, and disaster response, shall continue their operations.
Meanwhile, the circular noted that the suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.
Before the order from the Palace, several local government units have already announced class suspensions for Monday.
At 11 a.m., state weather bureau PAGASA issued an Orange Rainfall Warning in Metro Manila and five other areas in Luzon. —AOL, GMA News
