Magnitude 5.4 earthquake hits Balut Island, Davao Occidental

A magnitude 5.4 earthquake was recorded off the waters of Sarangani, Davao Occidental on Tuesday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
In a bulletin, PHIVOLCS earlier reported a magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit the area.
The earthquake that was tectonic in origin occurred at 9:22 pm, 71 kilometers southeast of Balut Island in the Municipality of Sarangani. It had a depth of focus of 106 kilometers.
PHIVOLCS said that no damage and aftershocks are expected. — BAP, GMA News
