Ash emission was observed for at least three times on Kanlaon Volcano on Sunday, October 11, 2026, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

Ash emission was record at 4:53 p.m., which generated a grayish plume that rose 600 meters above the summit crater before drifting northwest, as visually recorded by the Canlaon City Observation Station (KVO-CC) IP camera.

An earlier emission was recorded at 3:47 p.m., that also generated a grayish plume that rose 600 meters above the summit crater before drifting northwest.

The first ash emission for the day was recorded at 1:28 a.m., which generated a plume that rose 400 meters before drifting northwest.

Alert Level 2 remains in effect over Kanlaon Volcano, the agency said.

PHIVOLCS observed a moderately explosive eruption at Kanlaon Volcano on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at around 12:46 p.m.

“The event generated a plume that rose 5 to 6 kilometers above the summit crater before drifting north-northeast,” PHIVOLCS said. — BAP, GMA News
