DPWH to implement P2.3B projects in CDO for 2015
Some P2.3 billion in infrastructure projects will be in the pipeline in Cagayan de Oro City this year, the Department of Public Works and Highways said.
The DPWH said this covers 66 infrastructure projects, including construction and maintenance of flood mitigation structures and drainage systems.
On its website, the DPWH said the budget allocation will cover:
- 24 road concreting/rehabilitation projects
- 14 building projects
- eight flood control and drainage projects
- six road widening projects
- four improvement of off-carriageway projects
- four bridge projects
- two coastal road projects
- one diversion road project
- one bypass road project
Also, the DPWH said it has allotted P772 million for flood control projects in the city, including:
- two Cagayan de Oro City River Basin Flood Control Projects worth P400 million
- three Iponan Flood Control Projects worth P300 million
- two upgrading projects of Bigaan Creek worth P70 million
- drainage system at Tejero St., in Barangay Patag costing P2 million.
Other major projects allocated for Cagayan de Oro City include:
- P300 million completion of Cagayan de Oro Convention Center
- P118 million widening of Butuan City-Cagayan de Oro City-Iligan City Road
- P68 million construction of Sapang Bridge along Butuan Cagayan De Oro-Iligan Road, Kauswagan Section. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
