Tsinoy trader linked to bouncing checks case nabbed in Davao

A Filipino-Chinese trader who has been linked to a bouncing-check case has been arrested in Davao City.

National Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Orlando Yap at a mall in Davao City, GMA Davao reported.

The NBI said Yap, a resident of Barangay Buhangin in Davao City, was charged for violating the bouncing check law in 2009 and pleaded guilty in 2011.

But he disappeared since and Judge Andrea dela Cruz issued a warrant for his arrest in February 2015.

Yap declined to comment on his arrest, even as the NBI called on his possible victims to go to the NBI office to lodge complaints against him.

"Sana kung may iba pang nabiktima, pwede kayong pumunta sa opisina ng NBI para ma-process natin ito, ma-verify natin," said NBI-11 supervising agent Archie Albao. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
