Vehicle allegedly used in Trece Martires Vice Mayor Lubigan killing found


Police have found the vehicle allegedly used in the killing of Trece Martires, Cavite Vice Mayor Alexander Lubigan early Wednesday.

Cavite Regional Police Director Senior Superintendent William Segun said in an interview with Dobol B sa News TV that the vehicle was spotted by residents at the Mabacao-Pantihan Bridge, Barangay Tulay B, Pantihan I, Maragondon, Cavite at 6:55 a.m.

Additional police reports said the metallic black or dark green Toyota Hilux had no plate number and conduction sticker.

Segun said the suspects planned to drop the vehicle off a cliff.

The vehicle will be processed by Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), including the taking of fingerprints.

Vice Mayor Lubigan, as well as his aide, were killed in an ambush attack in Barangay Luciano in Trece Martires at about 2:53 p.m. last Saturday.

His death followed the killing of Tanauan, Batangas Mayor Antonio Halili last July 2 and General Tinio, Nueva Ecija Mayor Ferdinand Bote last July 3. —Jamil Santos/KG, GMA News
