Lapu-Lapu City Police Office chief Colonel Lemuel Obon confirmed that another suspect to the Silawan slay case was already in their custody.
However, Obon said the city police office has to coordinate first with the special investigation task group (SITG) of the Silawan case before divulging any information about the identity of the suspect and his participation to the crime.
In the initial reports, the then 17-year-old ex-boyfriend of Silawan was tagged as the main suspect in the brutal killing of the teenager.
He was arrested on March 16 in Lapu-Lapu City and currently in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
