Sandra Cam surrenders to police in Calabarzon
Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam, who is being tagged in the killing of Masbate vice mayor Charlie Yuson III, has surrendered to the police in Calabarzon, a police official said Thursday.
In an interview with reporters, Criminal Detection and Investigation Group (CIDG) director Major General Albert Ignatius Ferro said Cam surrendered voluntarily due to a medical concern.
“Kasi may medical concern [siya] so hindi din siya basta maaalis. So sinerve natin doon tapos pending sa medical condition niya saka natin siya dadalhin sa Crame or kung saan siya puwede ilagay na custodial area,” he said.
(Because she has a medical concern, we can’t just move her. We served it there and pending her medical condition, we would decide if we could take her to Camp Crame or another custodial area.)
Cam, her son, and five others were issued arrest warrants over the killing of Yuson on October 9, 2019 in Sampaloc, Manila.
The other accused are Marco Martin Cam, Nelson Cambaya, Junel Gomez, Bradford Solis, Juanito De Luna, and Rigor Dela Cruz.
The Manila Regional Trial Court, which served the warrants, said the suspects will not be allowed to post bail in the murder case while a P200,000 bail was set for each of the accused in the frustrated murder case.
According to this wife, Yuson has said that if anything bad happens to him, Cam should be the person to be held responsible.
