Eight family members of a Delta variant carrier in Bacoor City, Cavite, have tested positive for COVID-10, Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla said on Unang Balita.
Mercado said the city government tested 10 members of the household and nine, including the index Delta variant case, came out positive.
“Doon po sa bahay sa Addas 2C, ‘yung pamilya po doon is composed of 10. Out of 10, nine po ang positive including the index patient,” she said.

Mercado said they will conduct antigen tests on the residents of around 30 homes in adjacent streets that are put under lockdown.
Mercado last week ordered the lockdown of two subdivisions after receiving information that there are two confirmed Delta variant cases there.
The City Welfare Office and the General Services Office will be providing relief assistance to all the households affected by the lockdown.
Data released by the Philippine Genome Center showed that the Philippines recorded a total of 119 cases of the Delta variant, which was first detected in India, as of July 24. —KBK, GMA News
