Ambuklao, Binga dam gates still open
Some gates of the Ambuklao and Binga dams in Benguet were still open as of Saturday, PAGASA said in its advisory.
At 6 a.m., four gates of Ambuklao Dam were open at 2 meters. Five gates were open on Friday.
The dam's reservoir water level (RWL) was at 751.66 meters at 6 a.m. on Saturday, nearing the 752-meter normal high water level (NHWL).
Binga Dam still had four gates open at 2 meters on Saturday morning, same as on Friday.
Its RWL was at 573.93 meters, which is close to the 575-meter NHWL.
Ipo Dam on the other hand had no more gates open. It had one gate open on Friday.
At 6 a.m. on Saturday, Ipo Dam’s RWL was at 99.87 meters, just about a meter away from the 101-meter NHWL.
The Southwest Monsoon will be affecting Luzon and Visayas on Saturday, PAGASA said.
The Ilocos Region, Zambales, Benguet, Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon and localized thunderstorms. —KG, GMA News
