Bustos Dam releases water in preparation for Maymay

Bustos Dam in Bulacan released water on Wednesday in preparation for the expected heavy rains brought by Tropical Depression Maymay.

Citing state weather forecasters PAGASA, Glen Juego reported on Super Radyo dzBB that  two of Bustos Dam's gates were opened.

Meanwhile, Magat Dam is scheduled to open one of its gates to release water at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, six areas were under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 as Maymay maintained its strength and remained "almost stationary" over the Philippine Sea.

Maymay is expected to move slowly westward or west southwestward towards the eastern coast of Central Luzon "and weaken into a remnant low as it approaches the landmass,” PAGASA said. —Richa Noriega/KBK, GMA News
