Bulacan Gov. Daniel Fernando denies he had a stroke

Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando denied speculations that he had a stroke after he was unable to speak during his speech at an event in the provincial capitol’s gymnasium recently, GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita reported on Thursday.

“Mga kababayan kong Bulakenyo, huwag po kayong mag-alala wala pong nangyari sa akin. Walang nangyaring stroke. Basta magpapahinga lang po ako,” Fernando said.

(To my fellow Bulakenyos, don’t worry, nothing serious happened to me. I did not have a stroke. I will just rest.)

After his duty at his office on Monday evening, Fernando went straight to an event held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium, according to the provincial government.

A viral video showed Fernando was about to give a speech but he was apparently unable to talk. Bulacan Vice Governor Alex Castro approached Fernando and escorted him out of the venue.

Fernando was immediately brought to the hospital.

Based on the medical bulletin from his doctor, Fernando suffered from fatigue and dehydration. —Joviland Rita/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
