Magnitude 5.5 earthquake strikes off Surigao del Sur

A magnitude 5.5 earthquake Sur struck off the coast of Surigao del Sur early Sunday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.

The tectonic quake took place at 12:25 a.m., with the epicenter located 131 km northeast of Lingig, Surigao del Sur. It occurred at a depth of 33 km.
