Sea travel in Palawan suspended amid Typhoon Tino - PCG
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Wednesday deferred sea travel in some Coast Guard Stations (CGS) in Palawan amid the harsh weather caused by Typhoon Tino.
In a Sea Travel Advisory shared social media post at 4 p.m., PCG said, "In accordance with maritime safety regulations and protocols, All Coast Guard District Palawan Stations have issued Sea Travel Advisories resulting in: TEMPORARY SUSPENSION of voyages of vessels/watercraft regardless of tonnage."
The advisory was issued to the following CGS:
- CGS Central Palawan
- CGS South Central Palawan
- CGS Southern Palawan
- CGS North Central Palawan
- CGS Northern Palawan
- CGS Northern Eastern Palawan
- CGS Western Palawan
- CGS Kalayaan Island Group
- CGS Eastern Palawan
According to PAGASA’s 11 a.m. cyclone bulletin, the northern town of El Nido remains under Signal No. 4 and will continue to experience typhoon-force winds of 118 to 184 km/h in at least 12 hours.
Tino was last located 190 kilometers west of Coron, Palawan.
A woman recently died in Maguindanao del Sur after the boat that she and her children were riding capsized due to large waves amid the rough weather.
According to PAGASA, Tino has made eight landfalls since Tuesday.
