Bogo City, Cebu buy-bust yields P7.5-M shabu, drug suspect
Over a kilo worth of suspected shabu worth P7.5 million was seized from a high value target who was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Bogo City, Cebu on Sunday afternoon, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) said.
The 34-year-old suspect, alias “Ed,” was nabbed by operatives of the PNP-DEG and Cebu police in Barangay San Pedro, Bogo City. Another suspect, alias “Stevenson,” remains at large.
After the sting, authorities seized 1,117 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P7.595 million from the suspect as well as non-drug items.
The suspect was brought to Bogo City Police Station for documentation and proper disposition while the confiscated contraband was turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Forensic Office 7 in Lahug, Cebu City for laboratory examination.
Brigadier General Elmer Ragay, PNP-DEG chief, called the operation another victory against illegal drugs due to the cooperation of the PNP and other law enforcement agencies. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
