The Municipality of Lian, Batangas announced on Monday that work in local government offices is suspended on Tuesday, June 23, for the preparation for the Sambuhos Festival on Wednesday, June 24.

(Based on the Office Memorandum Order issued by the Office of the Municipal Mayor, work in the offices of the Local Government of Lian is suspended tomorrow, Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in preparation for the celebration of the Town Fiesta and Sambuhos Festival on June 24.)

(Due to this, fellow citizens who have scheduled transactions at the municipal hall are advised to settle them today or on June 25, when normal office operations resume.)

Malacañang earlier declared June 24 a special non-working holiday in the municipality for the Sambuhos Festival, which features the water-dousing tradition.

However, the municipality said that offices providing health and disaster response services will remain open. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA News
