Two persons are under investigation following alleged threats of a shooting and stabbing at the Batangas City Integrated High School.

According to Marisol Abdurahman’s report in “24 Oras”, the on-site classes in the high school were suspended on Monday following a Facebook post of an alleged Grade 10 student claiming to be bullied and threatening to shoot and stab students of the school.

The police found that this is not the first time that someone made such a threat.

“Pinost is a video lang na may baril. Ayun lang po yung pinost sa GC,” said Batangas CIty Police chief Colonel Ira Morello, referring to a video showing a .45 caliber pistol and one can be heard saying, “Papatayin ko kayo (I will kill you all).”

(What was posted was just a video with a gun. That was all that was posted in the GC [group chat].)

The school principal summoned the person who posted the video and made him promise not to repeat what he did.

However, it remains unclear if the video is related to the latest threat posted online.

“Ang nakalagay sa message, ‘Saksak at baril ko kayo, mga Grade 7,8,9,10. Hulaan niyo kung kailan. Hahaha. Binubully niyo ako ha? Barilan tayo bukas. Patay kayo sa akin.’”

(What was written in the message was, ‘I will stab and shoot you all, Grade 7, 8, 9, 10. Guess when. Hahaha. You are bullying me, huh? Let’s have a shootout tomorrow. You are dead to me.’)

The persons of interests identified by the Batangas Police are: a 17-year-old Grade 10 student of the school and a 20-year-old man.

Initial investigation showed that the Grade 10 student was allegedly being bullied and could have made the threat as a result.

The Batangas Police said that the high school student could have made the threat to stop the bullying against him.

Investigation on the matter is ongoing. Authorities will also place the cellphones of the persons of interest under forensic investigation.

The high school, on the other hand, assured that campus is safe and extra security measures will be put in place. On-site classes in the said school will also resume on Tuesday. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA News
