Magnitude 4.5 earthquake jolts Tuba, Benguet

A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck Tuba, Benguet on Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
The earthquake of tectonic origin was recorded nine kilometers west of Tuba at 2:33 p.m. and occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.
PHIVOLCS said instrumental intensities were logged in the following areas:
- Intensity V - City of Baguio, Benguet
- Intensity III - Sison, Pangasinan
- Intensity II - Urdaneta, Pangasinan
- Intensity I - Cuyapo and Lingayen, Pangasinan
PHIVOLCS said there was no reported damage and cautioned the public to possible aftershocks.
The tremor caused students and employees of schools that include the University of the Philippines Baguio and the Quezon Elementary School to evacuate after it was felt in Baguio City.—Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA News
