Face-to-face classes in Jagna, Bohol suspended due to shooting threat

Face-to-face classes in the town of Jagna in Bohol were suspended on Friday, August 7, 2026, due to a shooting threat.

The local government said in-person classes were cancelled as a preemptive measure.

The schools targeted are the following:

  • Lonoy Heroes Memorial High School - Grades 7 to 12
  • Faraon National High School - Grades 7 to 12
  • Jagna High School - Grades 7 to 12
  • Central Visayan Institute Foundation (CVIF) Junior High School Department - Grades 7 to 10
  • Colegio de la Medalla Milagrosa - Grades 7 to 12

According to Mayor Mark Louie Monungolh, local authorities are assessing the security of the schools named in the threat while validating the online post, as of this writing.

He urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information.
