5,200 flood victims in Bulacan receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation

A total of 5,200 residents affected by the flooding caused by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat in Hagonoy, Bulacan received food packs from the GMA Kapuso Foundation through its Operation Bayanihan.

According to a report on "24 Oras" on Monday, one of the beneficiaries was Carlos Sagosoy, who has lived in Hagonoy for more than 20 years. He has gotten used to the flooding, but recently, the water reached knee-levels inside his home as the Habagat happened at the same time as the high tide.

"Since 2019, I noticed that the high tide comes in here. Then it slowly reached outside, until it became this. When it rains, especially when there's a typhoon, the flood gets deeper," Carlos said in Filipino.

His construction job was also halted due to the rains.

"To the government, I hope you can help our area here. In the whole of Bulacan, this is the situation when there is a storm or high tide, we will sink. I hope you find a way," Carlos said.
