Ukrainian actor Pasha Lee who got killed in a Russian bombardment gave his bulletproof vest to a child he was carrying.
The head of Centre for Civil Liberties in Ukraine Oleksandra Matviichuk tweeted that Lee's body was found five days after he was killed in battle at the town of Irpin outside of the capital Kyiv.
"We found the body of our Pasha Lee," Matviichuk, who is a human rights lawyer, wrote in a tweet.
"He helped the children get out of the house during the evacuation of people from Irpen," she added.
"The evacuation that Russians disrupted by shelling civilians. Pasha took off his bulletproof vest and put it on the child he was carrying," she ended her note.
According to a BBC report, the 33-year-old Ukranian actor who is an Irpin resident signed up for Ukraine's territorial defence force in the first days of the war.
The BBC report said Lee has appeared in several films and his voice was featured in the Ukrainian versions of The Lion King and The Hobbit.
Lee also starred in TV talent shows such as Star Factory and X-Factor and a number of films.
Days before he was killed, Lee posted a link to a Ukrainian refugee charity encouraging his followers to approach them for help or to volunteer.
His last Instagram post is a photo of himself and a colleague with a hopeful message, "we'll be ok and everything will be Ukraine." —JAB, GMA News.
